Gandhi Jayanti

Gandhi Jayanti is an event celebrated in India to mark the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. It is celebrated annually on 2 October, and is one of the three national holidays of India.

The UN General Assembly announced on 15 June 2007 that it adopted a resolution which declared that 2 October will be celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence as he was a non-violent freedom fighter.

To pay homage to Mahatma Gamdhi, Dr. M. I. J. G. H. S celebrated the event in Assembly Hall on 30th September,2022. Ms. Firdous Shaikh anchored the program.

The program started with Qirat by Ms. Tasmiya Khan of Std. X. Ms. Ajra Shah of Std. X highlighted philosophy of Gandhiki. A motivational poem by Ms. Nadiya Khan of std. IXC followed by a group song from students of std. IX & X. Ms. Humera sung Pyare Babu. A short skit on " Gandhigiri " was performed by students of Std. XE .

Ms. Fatima Shaikh recited a poem. Vice- Principal Ms. Zohra Sakrekar encouraged the students and motivated students to follow the path Gandhiji. The program was very well executed by History teachers of Morning shift. Students displayed Charts pertaining information of Gandhiji.
